Volunteer Opportunities at Collegiate Connect

This is a remote Volunteer Listener role open to all undergraduate and graduate students in the United States. As a Volunteer Listener, you will engage with college students, offering active listening, emotional support, and empathetic communication during scheduled sessions. You will assist in identifying and providing appropriate resources when needed and participate in ongoing training and team meetings to enhance your skills. This role also allows for involvement in fundraising volunteer initiatives aimed at supporting mental health resources. Maintaining confidentiality and fostering a welcoming, non-judgmental space for students are essential responsibilities of the role, especially as a peer listener in these critical conversations.

Qualifications

- Active Listening and Empathy skills, with a nonjudgmental and compassionate approach

- Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills to build meaningful connections

- Basic Understanding of Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

- Collaboration and Teamwork skills, with a willingness to participate in team training and activities

- Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards

- Experience in supporting peers or a background in counseling/psychology is a plus

- Currently enrolled college students or individuals with knowledge of the college experience, as well as those interested in roles such as marketing volunteer, are highly encouraged to apply.

Our marketing volunteers will help us spread the word by creating content, managing social media, and ensuring that more students know about the support available, including opportunities to become a fundraising volunteer or a peer listener.

Fundraising volunteers will play a crucial role in helping us secure the resources we need to keep this platform thriving. By supporting campaigns, reaching out to potential donors, and contributing as marketing volunteers, they will help us grow sustainably. Additionally, having peer listeners among our team can further enhance our outreach efforts.
